Julia is the Director of Risk Management and Insurance at DLA Piper, the global law firm, where she is responsible for the development and delivery of the Firm’s International Risk Management Strategy and Framework and the Firm’s risk financing solutions.
The Firm takes an enterprise approach to managing risk.
Risk financing solutions include the design and procurement of insurance and associated risk financing needs for all classes of risk including professional liabilities, property, casualty, health and benefits.
Julia is a member of the Firm’s Risk Committee and a Director of the Firm’s Captive insurance company. She also holds a number of external Non-Executive Director appointments.
Julia has over 35 years’ experience in managing risk, compliance and insurance. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurer and Chairman of the Panel of Judges for the 2014 British Insurance Awards. She is a fellow of the Business Continuity Institute, a UK expert member and FERMA Liaison on the Technical Committee and Working Group for the development of ISO 31000, the risk management standard. She is Chair of the Risk Panel for the Managing Partner Forum, a past Chairman of AIRMIC and a Board member and President of FERMA.
