Educated aeronautical meteorologist in 1978 and worked from 1978 to 1990 at the airport of Copenhagen.
Moved in 1990 to Danish Meteorological Office in Copenhagen.
Also in 1990 he was employed as free lance at Danish national TV as meteorologist at the News.
In 2002 he left Danish Meteorological Institute to become fully employed as meteorologist at the News on TV.
In 2006 the greek climate commisioner Stavros Dimas founded the Climate Broadcaster Network – Europe. Jesper Theilgaard became a member of this network and since then he has studied the climate problem and described it in books as well as in speeches.
Recently Jesper Theilgaard has reported to the News from the climate negotiations at the COP-meetings and from the release of the IPCC reports.
